Medi-Cal and CalOptima dentist in West Covina

Harmony Dental Care at 148 N Grand Ave in West Covina accepts Medi-Cal, Denti-Cal, and CalOptima. Our team works with these plans every day, so patients who come in with this coverage do not have to navigate the paperwork alone. We see patients from West Covina and the surrounding communities, including Valinda, South San Jose Hills, Covina, Baldwin Park, Irwindale, and La Puente.

What it means to see a Medi-Cal or CalOptima dentist

A dentist who accepts a plan has agreed to work with that plan’s rules, forms, and claims process. For you, that means you can book a visit directly with our office. CalOptima patients do not need a referral to schedule with us, because our office is a direct provider for CalOptima dental care.

What your plan pays for depends on your plan itself. Limits, covered services, and eligibility can change, so the best source is the information your plan gives you and the check our team makes before your visit.

Who can visit our office

Harmony Dental Care welcomes new patients of all ages. We also see pediatric Medi-Cal and CalOptima patients starting at five years old. Our office does not decide who qualifies for a plan. The team checks the plan a patient already has and explains what we find before any treatment is planned.

Families are welcome. Many parents bring several children to the same visit, and our team schedules with that in mind.

What to expect at your first visit

Most visits follow the same steps:

  • Call or book online. You can reach us at (626) 858-3305 or use our online scheduler. Our office is open Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
  • Plan check before your visit. Our administrative team verifies your eligibility before you come in. Please bring the plan information you have so we can check it.
  • Clear explanation of your benefits. We explain what your plan appears to cover in plain terms, and we tell you about any limits that may apply.
  • Prior authorization when needed. Some treatments need approval from the plan before work can begin. Our team sends these requests and tells you when we are waiting on an answer.
  • Exam and X-rays. Your dentist examines your teeth and gums and takes digital X-rays when they are needed.
  • Treatment plan. Your dentist reviews what they recommend and why. You can ask questions before anything is scheduled.
  • Claims handled for you. After treatment, we submit the claims directly so you do not have to fill out the forms yourself.

If you are not sure what to bring, call the office before your visit. Our team can tell you what helps us check your plan faster.

Insurance and payment options

Harmony Dental Care accepts PPO and Indemnity plans, Medi-Cal, Denti-Cal, Smile California, CalOptima, and most major dental insurance plans. Your plan’s benefits depend on the plan you have, so we check each patient’s plan individually.

We handle all authorizations and claims for the government dental plans we accept. For PPO and Indemnity plans, we work with most major carriers and help you understand how your benefits apply to your visit.

If you do not have insurance, our $59 new patient special includes a comprehensive exam, digital X-rays, and a professional cleaning for new patients without insurance. For larger care, we offer flexible financing with affordable monthly payment plans for elective and major procedures. You can ask about these options during your visit, and the team can also talk through CareCredit, Sunbit, Alpheon, and credit card payment choices.

What happens after treatment

Some treatments need a follow-up visit, and the plan may require updates on the work before it is approved for the next step. Keep your appointments, and call us if your plan asks for information after your visit. Our billing team handles the claims paperwork so you can focus on your recovery.

Your dentist will tell you how to care for your mouth after each treatment, including what to eat, how to clean the area, and when to call the office if something does not feel right.

Why patients choose Harmony Dental Care

Same care for every patient. Your insurance type does not change the quality of your care. Every patient receives the same materials, technology, and attention.

Modern diagnostic tools. We use 3D digital X-rays, digital impressions, 3D CBCT imaging, and iTero digital scanning. Our team also offers CEREC same-day crown milling and laser dentistry for certain procedures.

Comfortable visits. We offer local anesthetic, numbing gel, warm blankets, and noise-canceling headphones to help patients feel at ease.
